Being Jewish, I had the opportunity to go to Israel as part of Birthright in 2015.  There’s so much to say about the trip: from getting to experience one of the most historical places on earth, to spiritually experiencing a place with such a deep and significant religious history, to the friends I made and the stories I have from the trip.

I took so many photos during those 10 days and out of the thousands of photos, I created this series of 12 photos.

As a photographer I’m always trying to capture fleeting moments of time that will never exist again, to tell a story and to leave the same type of impact on you, the viewer.  You never know when a moment will create an impact that will stay with you for a lifetime.

While I’m not political, I am a fighter for human rights.  I grew up heavily involved with human rights and volunteer work.  My mom has been the President of Artists for Human Rights for over 15 years and I have traveled the world with Youth For Human Rights.  I stand behind the United Nations
Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Some important rights being:

We are all born free and equal.

The right to life.

No torture.

You have rights no matter where you go.

The right to seek a safe place to live.

Right to nationality.

Freedom of Thought.

Freedom of Expression.

Food and Shelter for All.

A Fair and Free world.

No one can take away your human rights.

My hope with this series is to help not with the political battle in Israel, but with the humanitarian crisis that is occurring.
